No matter what tools you use, it's important what idea you carry in your drawing
What this title tries to grasp is the overall idea behind arts as a whole. You can do one thing in dozens of different ways. Just look at drawing: you can draw using tons of different tools. The same goes for painting, not to mention all the other specifications, be it aquarelles or pastel drawing. All you need to do is to try and experiment. It doesn’t even really matter what quality of tools you are using. You won’t need dead expensive tools for making good sketches. Just draw or paint exactly the way you feel it’s comfortable for you.
When it comes to arts, there are no “must-haves”. It’s about the liberty of creating things the way you want to create them. If you want to use a normal pencil on printing paper do it! If you want to use coal for deeper shades and effects, no one holds you back! The most important is to try the most you can, so that you can learn what you like and what you don’t like as a tool of doing artwork.
